One of our blog readers Rachel Boenigk a Texas A&M University senior wants to build a GLBT Center in College Station, Texas. The closest resource to this central Texas town lies more than 100 miles away! Rachel has applied for the Pepsi Refresh Project's - Good Idea, where the soft drink company will give millions away to those concepts who get the most votes. Her idea is currently ranked number 27th on the 50,000 dollar challenge.
Goals:
-Find a home for the center
-Hire a program director
-Raise a minimum of $25,000 more to fund the center
-Furnish the center
-Provide a safe place and a meeting place for the GLBT community
