Austin Weekly News Features Story About "Ex-Gay"

The Austin Weekly News has featured an article titled "An "Ex-gay' Speaks Out" about Cornelius Williams a man who claims faith cured his homosexuality and now serves as a pastor.

The article gives credence to the misinformation put out by the so called 'ex-gay' movement, the man had few male role models, crossdressed and became sexually active at a young age, and was depressed by the short-term and unstable relationships he had.

Williams has become a fierce opponent of gay rights and maintains one cannot be a Christian and a homosexual.

Williams has the right to his opinion, but the Austin Weekly News a weekly newspaper in the Austin area of Chicago must present the story in a fair angle and discuss the psychological and scientific sham that is the 'ex-gay' movement. There is no mention that medical professionals view this sort of identity change and therapy to be pseudo-science and dangerous and that many Christian denominations do openly affirm gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender congregants.
